Every Project Completed

Over the entire history of Software Associates, we have never not finished a project. In an industry where most large projects run over budget and over time, that's quite an achievment. The following are examples of the types of projects we have been involved in over the past 20 years. For privacy reasons, names of our clients are not provided.

Internet Banking
Software Associates worked with the largest provider of Internet Banking systems in the US (Atlanta GA) to provide integration between their application their customer's mainframe based banking systems. We were called in to handle the difficult cases.

Telco Billing System
We developed a flexible billing system the multi-media branch of one of Australia's largest Telecommunications company. This system was responsible for providing combined billing of multiple services, including ISP subscriptions. This system was notable for it's huge number of billing options and ability to provide discounting, incentives etc, using combined data feeds from many rating engines. This group within the Telco subsequently split off and became Australia's largest ISP.

Customer Facing System for a Hong Kong Teleco
This system, which has been in use for more than 10 years, provides a single windows front end to a middleware system that accesses 12 different legacy systems, including a billing system, telephone exchange hardware, inventory, lucky number, engineer scheduling and other systems. These systems run on a multitude of platforms, including IMS, VMS, UNIX, Windows and proprietary operating systems. The application is used at point-of-sale within retail stores, with 200+ full time users.

Call Center and Retail Financial System
This system, developed for the Australian subsidiary of one of the largest personal finance companies in United States, was a purpose built CRM system. The application provides middleware between the customer agent and three backend finance and credit information systems.

Emergency Services
We developed a system for handling emergency phone calls to an Ambulance Service. As well as handling emergency calls, this system provided scheduling for booked transportation, crew scheduling, ambulance routing and monitoring functionality. Of highest concern were the reliability of the system. The application, as well as hardware needed to guarantee 100% uptime, and the performance could not be impacted under any failure or recovery circumstances.

Healthcare
Software Associates worked with a subsidiary of Hong Kong's largest private healthcare company, to build a web-based system patient management system. This system is used to (a) check the entitlement of patients for employee or insurance company covered medical expenses, (b) record diagnostic and drug prescription information, and (c) provide a clearing house for medical claims back to insurers and employers. This was (and perhaps still is) the largest web based healthcare transaction handling system in the world. In this system, reliability was paramount, as several hundred doctors would need to close their clinics if the system went down. Security was of absolute importance, as the system contained medical records and also financial information.
